Facebook is going to gear back and work a bit more slowly. Find out why!


HTTPSThe reason is simple.
In the interests of security, Facebook is switching from HTTP to more secure HTTPs. This is generally the level of encryption you get when visiting a secure banking site. Facebook deems this necessary as Facebook accounts have surpassed 1 Billion by conservative estimates. 

It's common knowledge that secure and encrypted pages take longer to load, so load delays are expected.It's possible user can can opt out of  HTTPs for maximum speed but this remains to be seen. We'll bring you updates as we find out more.
