2012 could easily be coined as the Year of the Data Breach. Big corporations such as Yahoo!, Bank of America, LinkedIn, Visa just to name a few all fell victim to hacker attacks, most of them BIG, putting customer data at risk and at the same time reminding all of us that identity theft is one of the fastest growing global crimes.
With all these developments, one would think that we may have at least learned how to choose secure passwords by now. No Sir! The password ''password'' and ''123456'' are the winners at for the second year in a row! Passwords like ''Ninja'' and ''Monkey'' also made it to the list.
What's really very disturbing is that this list was compiled from files containing millions of pinched passwords the hackers had the audacity to post it themselves, online.
